At Adera, we know that for each of our students, passing Ethiopia’s sixth, eighth, and twelfth grade national exams is not just an academic milestone — it’s a lifeline. Last year, when our students transferred to new private schools, they were often labeled “too poor to succeed.” Many schools doubted whether our students could pass these critical exams — fearing that low pass rates would damage the schools’ reputations.
But Adera stepped in to stand in the gap. Every afternoon, our dedicated team provided tutoring, mentorship, and encouragement — equipping our students not just to survive in their new schools, but to excel. And excel they did: every single one of our students passed their national exams, many ranking at the top of their classes.

This victory is far more than good grades on paper. It means our students are safe from dropping out and being forced into daily labor far too young. It means they are less vulnerable to early marriage and early parenting. It means they have the chance to finish school and build a secure future — something their parents often could only dream of.
At Adera, we hold tightly to this promise: “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” — Jeremiah 29:11
But we know education alone is not enough. Each week, Adera provides discipleship and ongoing support for students and their families — building a long-term relationship that strengthens not only their education, but their hearts and homes.
Today, 15 Adera staff members and volunteers pour daily into these students — investing in their academic growth, their personal development, and their spiritual walk. Together, we are helping them build a foundation for education security, economic security, and eternal security.
This recent success reminds us of what’s possible and fuels the next steps in our vision. We presently have students who need an education sponsorship to cover the coming year’s school fees and vital family support. Would you consider sponsoring a student for the next school year?
Your sponsorship will help keep a child in school, strengthen a family, and give hope that will last for generations.
Thank you for standing with us to bring help and true hope — today and for the future.
Continue to Pray!
Adera’s First Pre-K Class is Thriving—But We Need a Building

Buildings are important, but praying for those experiencing loss is our present reality. This past weekend, one of our moms, Aberash (33), passed away from breast cancer. She was a single mother to two daughters — one in 8th grade and one in 3rd grade. Aberash was a believer, so she did not die without hope, but her daughters now face a deep and painful loss.
Her 8th grade daughter did not pass the national exam because she was caring for her mother during her final days. Please pray for the future of both young girls — for their comfort, provision, and hope as family members step in to care for them. Pray also for wisdom and strength for Adera as we continue to love and support them through this difficult season.
“Adera Foundation shares the gospel in both word and deed transforming the lives of the poor in Ethiopia giving help and true hope.”
